Beefing Up Doors

Good dead-bolt locks are vital to the security of your entry doors, but they won't deliver all the protection they're capable of if the rest of your door's components aren't up to snuff. An ill-fitting or rotted door frame, door windows or side lights with ordinary glazing, and standard hinge and strike-plate hardware are all weak links -- but fortunately they're ones you can easily strengthen.
