Learn about the different types of water softeners that you can use in your home.
What are the best products for DIY no-salt water softeners for a home? I see a variety of ads, but I'm not sure of best deal and product.
Just like any water treatment product out there (especially with the information on the Internet), tons of options and reviews are available. I have found the most success and best performance from the Culligan and GE products. Culligan is the best on the market -- water treatment is all it has done for years, and it's very good at it. GE also has some really strong products on the market for water treatment. With some basic plumbing skills -- you will more than likely have to cut pipes and sweat some joints -- you should be able to install an entry-level water softener from one of the big-box stores.

My company, Almar Building & Remodeling Co., is located in Hanover, Mass., which is south of Boston. We have been in business for 50 years. My grandfather started the company in 1959, and my dad had been running it full time until I came on board seven years ago. We are a full-service remodeler that loves a challenge and projects that other people aren't interested in taking on.
