Valentine Mailbox

Any child would love gathering valentines from friends and family in this clever mailbox. There's just enough space inside to stash small cards and treats.

1. Enlarge Pattern 225 percent. Trace the mailbox pattern pieces onto metallic silver card stock and cut them out. Trace the flag pattern onto red card stock and cut it out. For the mailbox base and front flap, score on the dotted lines and fold.

2. Gently bend the mailbox top in half widthwise so the paper curves. Attach the sides to the base with silver heart-shape brads. Handwrite or computer-print a message on white card stock and adhere to the flag. Glue the flag to the arm and attach the arm to the mailbox with a brad. Adhere hearts cut from patterned papers to the sides of the mailbox. Add stems and leaves made of twisted paper ribbon.

3. For the mailbox back, make snips along the curved edge to allow the edge to fold neatly and attach. Adhere the bottom strip of the front flap to the inside of the mailbox base. Sew on a bead for the handle.
