Toss together your favorite greens -- green fabrics, that is -- to piece the Shamrock Wall Quilt in a Courthouse Steps block. A center square holds a synthetic suede shamrock surrounded by check and print fabrics.

  • 2 2 x 10-inch strips of dark green print (Fabric A)
  • 2 2 x 13-inch strips of light green print (Fabric B)
  • 2 2 x 13-inch strips of dark green print (Fabric C)
  • 2 2 x 17-inch strips of light green print (Fabric D)
  • 4 3 x 17-inch strips of green striped fabric (binding)
  • Sewing thread: green and gold
  • 18 x 18-inch piece of green print fabric (backing)
  • 18 x 18-inch piece of Pellon Thermolam Plus batting
  • Anchor variegated embroidery floss: Christmas Green (1214)
  • 24 3/8-inch-diameter gold coin charms (1881-15) by Darice
  • Disappearing-ink marking pen
  • Fabric glue
  • Embroidery needle
  • Tracing paper
