- Glass vase
- Rubbing alcohol
- Paper towels
- Vitrea glass paints (purple, blue, green, and light green)
- Plastic disposable plate
- Fan-shape paintbrush
- Sea sponge
1. Wipe the glass surface to be painted using a paper towel dampened with rubbing alcohol. Let the glass dry. Pour paints onto a plastic disposable plate. Use a fan brush to paint the base and stem first. 2. Use a sea sponge to paint the body of the vase, starting at the bottom. Working from the darkest to the lightest, overlap the colors of paint as you work your way toward the upper rim. The colors we used were (in order) purple, blue, dark green, and light green. Let the paint dry for 24 hours. 3. Bake in an oven, following the paint manufacturer's instructions. Wash the painted glassware with mild soap and water.More Ideas:
- Paint glass candlesticks in a single color or bands of color to coordinate with the vase.
- Sponge wine glasses with paint, reversing the color sequence for a coordinated look.
