Decorate your hat with vacation
souvenirs!

Before you begin your trip, find a plain hat in your child's size. As you travel, collect buttons, patches, and other souvenirs that can be pinned, glued, or stitched to the cap at the end of each day -- or when you're home.

• Cardboard
• Polyester-blend T-shirt
• Fabric crayons (store in plastic container away from heat and sun)
• Puff paint

1. Trace T-shirt onto cardboard. Cut out cardboard shape and slip it inside T-shirt. This will give your child a firm backing to draw against.

2. Ask your child to draw highlights of each day with the fabric crayons. When you return home, follow package directions to set the art into fabric. Embellish the drawings with fabric paints (add dates, places, and other information).
