Punch-It-Out Note Cards

A card made for May Day can just as easily be a cheery Mother's Day card.

What You Need:

Happy Mother's Day! Changing the
message on the front of these
cards is easy to do.

  • Scissors
  • Paper scraps
  • Decorative-edge scissors
  • Round, heart-shape, or other desired paper punches
  • Thick white crafts glue
  • Toothpick
  • Fine-point permanent marking pen in desired color

Instructions:

1. Cut the background paper approximately 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 inches. Fold the paper piece in half.

2. Use decorative-edge scissors to cut a rectangle smaller than the card front. Use desired paper punch to make designs on paper. To make leaves, cut small leaf shapes from green paper. To give the leaves dimension, fold them in half from point to point.

3. Glue the rectangle in the center of the card front. Add punched shapes and leaves, using a toothpick to apply glue to the tiny pieces.

4. Write desired message on the front and inside of the card.

More Ideas:

  • To use these cards as gift tags, make one-sided and add a hole punch to attach a cord or ribbon.
  • Use cookie cutters as patterns to cut tags into shapes, such as hearts and flowers.
