Pretty Ice Pail

Paint a pail and fill it with ice and your favorite bottled drinks to spice up a birthday bash.

What You Need:

Chill your beverages in this
cool ice pail.

  • Lightweight cardboard
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Metal pail approximately 8 inches high
  • Enamel paints in green, red, and turquoise
  • Paintbrush
  • White paint marker
  • Metal scoop
  • Ribbons


1. Cut a triangle pattern from the cardboard for the brim design. Trace it several times around the pail top, overlapping to appear as layered cloths.

2. Paint the triangles, alternating the colors. Paint a turquoise stripe around the pail bottom. Let dry. Add a thin green line at the top of the turquoise. Add red dots above the turquoise stripe. Let dry. Add cream dotted lines at the edges of each triangle.

3. Paint coordinating stripes on the scoop handle. Let dry. Add cream dots between the stripes. Let dry. Tie a multi-ribbon bow around the pail handle. Trim the ribbon ends if needed.
