Criss-Cross Template

    Directions

-- Cut a 4-1/4-x-12-inch piece of double-sided paper. (We used white for our template so you could see the cutting and scoring lines.)

-- Score the cut piece at both 5 1/2 and 11 inches.

-- Cut the 5-1/2-inch piece at an angle from corner to corner to make the triangle needed to create the criss-cross effect.

-- Attach the loose triangle to the 1-inch scored side with glue.

-- Fold the left triangle over first, then the right triangle. Glue the bottoms of both triangles to create the criss-cross effect.

-- Tuck the notecard into the criss-cross pocket; then slip the belly-band around the card.

Sponge-Painted Background

    Directions

-- Using paper scraps, create an outline (mask) of the shape that you desire in the background. (We chose a 2-3/8-x-3-1/2-inch window.)

-- Either hold the mask steady or use removable adhesive to hold the mask in place on the precut card stock.

-- Sponge background ink color until desired shading achieved.

-- Remove masking. Embellish as desired. We stamped the flower, punched a border of small holes around the center section, and added a glitter accent. (The holes could also be created with a sewing machine.)
