Make BBB unit (4 times). Sew D to C and add E (6 times). Join two CDE units to make a square (3 times). For Rows 1 and 3, sew A to BBB unit; add CDE unit. For Row 2, sew BBB unit to CDE unit; add BBB unit. Sew the three rows together to complete the block.

 

This quilt is designed to be a twin-size quilt measuring 69 x 93 inches. We have used a 3-inch plain border and the 3-inch Stars and Stripes border as sashing strips as shown.

This border is 3 inches wide and has a 3-inch repeat. For each star unit, sew A to A (4 times). Rows 1 and 3 -- sew B to AA; add B (2 times). Row 2 -- Sew AA to B; add AA. Sew Rows 1, 2, and 3 together to make one star unit. Make star units for the desired length of the quilt. Add a CCC unit to each corner.
