This song, which translates from the Hebrew as "Rock of Ages," was written 800 or 900 years ago in Europe. It can be sung to any of several tunes during the lighting of Hanukkah candles.

Rock of Ages, let our song praise thy saving power. Thou amid the raging foes were our sheltering tower. Furious they assailed us, but thine arm availed us. And thy word broke their sword when our own strength failed us.
