Chicken on Table
Serve yourself up as a chicken on a table.
1. Cut away the box's base and sides so only the top and corners remain to form the shape of a table and legs. Cut a circle in the center of the tabletop just large enough to accommodate your child's head.
2. Trace the opening onto the center of the paper plate and tablecloth, and cut out. Glue the tablecloth to the top of the table, lining up the openings. Glue the plate to the tablecloth, again lining up the openings.
3. Create a table setting by gluing the cup, napkin, and tableware to the table.
- Baseball cap
- 6-inch plastic foam egg (large)
- Two 4-7/8 x 3-1/2-inch plastic foam eggs (medium)
- Two 3 x 2-1/2-inch plastic foam eggs (small)
- 4 craft sticks
- 1 bag of yellow Crayola Model Magic
- Light and dark brown acrylic paint
- Plastic carrots, potatoes, and mushrooms
1. To make the chicken's body, cut the plastic foam ball to make a flat side, about 4 inches in diameter. Cut one inch off the bottom of the large egg. Push a craft stick halfway into the center of the ball's cut side and push the egg's flat side over the rest of the craft stick.
2. To make a drumstick, cut a flat spot on the side of a medium egg and push a craft stick halfway into the egg. Cover the stick with a small egg. Cut a flat spot on the side of the plastic foam ball and push a craft stick halfway into ball. Push the side of the medium egg over the rest of that stick.
3. Scoop a bowl-shaped opening out of the bottom of the chicken. Place the cap into the opening to test the fit. Cover the chicken (except the bottom opening) with a 1/4-inch layer of Model Magic to hold the pieces together and give the appearance of a real chicken. Let dry. Brush dark brown paint into the crevices and light brown paint over the top. Let dry. Hot-glue the cap inside the bottom opening.
4. Glue carrots, mushrooms, and potatoes to hat.
