Jar for Gremlin Gorp

 

Fill this ghoulish jar
with Gremlin Gorp.

• Jar with lip
• Glass paints in black, green, yellow, orange, and white
• Paintbrushes
• Pencil with round-tip eraser
• Black and white chenille stems

1. Prepare/paint jar. Wash and dry the jar. Avoid touching the areas to be painted. Paint black checks around the jar as shown in the picture, creating as many rows as the jar will allow. To create a row of lime green dots around the jar top, mix together small amounts of yellow and green paints. Dip the handle end of a paintbrush into the paint and dot on the surface, just below the lip. Let dry.

2. Add dots. Paint orange dots where the checks meet, using the eraser end of a pencil. Let dry. Add a white dot to the center of each check and a lime green dot to the center of each orange dot. Let dry.

3. Make handle. For handle, align the ends of the chenille stems and twist to secure 1 inch from the ends. Bring the long ends around the jar top, one in front and one in back. Continue twisting the chenille stems together, keeping tight to hold the jar. Shape the handle and twist all ends together to secure.

• 6-ounce bag dried apricots, snipped, for dried skin (1 cup)
• 2 4-1/2-ounce boxes of bite-size round crackers for witches' warts
• 6-ounce bag dried cranberries or cherries for dried drops of dragon's blood (1-2/3 cups)
• 12-ounce jar dry-roasted peanuts for dried lizards' eyes (2-1/3 cups)

Toss together in mixing bowl. Store in airtight bag or container up to 3 days. Makes 9 cups.
