Snowy Night Card

What You'll Need:
  • 1 sheet of blue metallic card stock
  • 1 sheet of green metallic card stock
  • Metallic silver paper
  • 1 sheet vellum
  • Metallic marking pens in silver and copper, such as Krylon or Painty Pen
  • 6-inch length of wire
  • Circle cutter and mat
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutter
  • Nail polish remover and soft cloth, optional
  • Spray adhesive
  • Glue stick
  • Envelope or vellum and tracing paper

Instructions:

1. Download the free pattern for this project. (Downloading requires Adobe Acrobat software.)

2. Cut a 4-inch circle from blue metallic card stock.

3. Trace the patterns, on tracing paper; cut out. Trace around snow patterns on vellum; cut out two rolling snowy hills. Apply to blue circle with spray adhesive, overlapping as shown.

4. Cut out elongated triangles from green metallic card stock; glue to ornament. With a silver pen, dot snowflakes and star. With copper pen, make tree trunks.

5. Using ornament cap pattern, cut two ornament caps from silver paper.

6. Wrap wire around something round, such as a large marker, at least twice to form the hanger; cut wire piece to include a complete circle.

7. Tape one ornament cap to front of ornament. With ornament face down, put glue on ornament cap and attach the wire ring. Align and glue the second cap with the front cap. If you get glue or adhesive on the ornament, wipe it clean with nail polish remover and a soft cloth.
