Bejeweled Tabletops

  • Pinking shears
  • Ruler
  • Art paper in cream and desired colors
  • Fine-line marking pen
  • Glue stick
  • 1/8-inch hole punch
  • Wire cutters
  • 24-gauge copper wire
  • Assorted glass beads
  • 1-inch gold head pins
  • Round-nose pliers
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • 6-millimeter jump rings
  • 1-1/4-inch-diameter gold wire hoop for each stemware charm
  • Scissors
  • Memory-wire coil for a necklace or bracelet (makes two napkin rings)

Place Card

Instructions:

1. Use pinking shears to cut out a 3 x 7-1/2-inch rectangle from colored paper and a 2 x 3-inch rectangle from cream paper. Fold the colored rectangle in half crosswise. Write a guest's name on the cream paper, and glue it to the front of the folded card. Punch two holes 1-1/2 inches apart at the top edge of the cream paper. 2. Cut a 10-inch length of copper wire. Thread a 1-1/2-length of beads onto the wire. Thread beads onto three head pins. Using round-nose pliers, bend the open end of each head pin into a loop. Join the loop of each beaded head pin to the beaded length of copper wire using 6mm jump rings and needle-nose pliers. Thread the beaded wire through the holes in the card. Twist the ends together inside the card and snip off the excess wire.

Stemware Charm

Instructions:

1. Thread beads onto a wire hoop, stopping 1/4 inch from the end. Using round-nose pliers, bend the wire into a hook. 2. Thread beads onto six head pins. Using round-nose pliers, bend the open end of each head pin into a loop. Join the beaded head pins to the beaded wire hoop using jump rings and needle-nose pliers.

Napkin Ring

Instructions:

1. Cut the memory-wire coil for a necklace or bracelet in half with scissors. Using round-nose pliers, bend one end of each wire length into a small loop. Thread assorted beads onto each wire, stopping 3/4 inch from the end. Use round-nose pliers to bend the other wire end into a small loop. 2. Thread beads onto two head pins. Using round-nose pliers, bend the open end of each head pin into a loop. Join one beaded head pin to each loop of the beaded memory-wire coil, using jump rings and needle-nose pliers.
