Hang Your Jack-o'-Lanterns
- Start by gathering materials from your garden. Here, we used branches from curly willow, Chinese lanterns, goldenrod, eucalyptus pods, and shiny, dark green leaves (such as from magnolia or oak trees).
- When you have your materials at the ready, fill a large urn or pot with soil. Tuck in the Chinese lantern, goldenrod, and eucalyptus stems, then dress them up with a skirt of shiny foliage. Hint: For an extra-spooky look, paint the leaves with black spray paint.
- Enhance the eerie effects with a series of chartreuse willow branches. For the finishing touch, suspend your jack-o'-lantern in a wire sling and make it glow with a battery-powered light.
