Carved Halloween Pumpkin with Crow

• Pumpkin (large enough to accommodate pattern)
• Free stencil
• Carving tools (gouge, knife)
• Black acrylic paint
• Paintbrush
• Spray varnish

1. Download the free crow stencil.
2. Cut an opening in the bottom of the pumpkin and remove the pulp and seeds from the inside.
3. Transfer the pattern onto the pumpkin.
4. Use a gouge to carve the decorative shapes around the opening -- deep enough to reveal the inner rind.
5. Paint the crow black.
6. Cut out the opening around the crow with a knife.
7. Retouch the paint if necessary.
8. Spray with varnish to set the paint.
