How to Make It

  1. Download the desired pattern.
  2. Cut along the top edge of each felt square (see detail photo), making it look jagged. Fold down the jagged edge about 1-1/2 inches. Pin in place.
  3. Stitch across the edge approximately 3/4 inches below the fold using black embroidery floss; leave openings at the end for the ribbon. Repeat with each felt square.
  4. Place felt squares with wrong sides together (jagged edge facing out). Using black embroidery floss, hand-stitch the squares together down the sides and the bottom edge of the bag. Do not stitch over the ribbon openings.
  5. Cut out the face patterns and trace onto the back of the black crafts-foam sheet. Cut out the shapes, pull off the adhesive backing, and position the facial features onto the bag.
  6. Cut two 18-inch lengths of ribbon for each bag. Thread one ribbon through the front fold and back through the back fold. Thread the front ribbon in the same manner, starting from the other side. Tie the ribbon tails together on each side. Repeat for each bag. Pull the ribbons tight to close the bag.
