From the oval bed of perennial flowers rises a solitary tree; choose either the white-barked birch shown or one of the four alternative trees, each lovely in its own way. Give this garden a golden glow by substituting black-eyed susans for the purple coneflowers and 'Anthea' yarrow for the 'Appleblossom' yarrow. Best in sun or partial shade.
