How far apart do you need to plant your annuals? Here's a cheat sheet.

Space most annuals a distance apart that is half of their mature height. Read seed packets for recommendations. Follow the spacing guidelines given below in inches for these annuals.

  • Ageratum: 6-8
  • Aster: 12-15
  • Begonia: 7-9
  • Cleome: 12-24
  • Coleus: 10-18
  • Marigold: 6-15
  • Nasturtium: 8-12
  • Oriental pepper: 6-8
  • Pansy: 4-6
  • Petunia: 12-14
  • Salvia: 6-8
  • Snapdragon: 6-8
  • Sweet alyssum: 6
  • Sweet pea: 10-12
  • Zinnia: 6-12
