ANGELS TRUMPET HAS BEEN IN THE NEWS LATELY. KIDS ARE GETTING INTOXICATED BY MAKING A TEA FROM THE LEAVES OR FLOWERS OR EATING THE SEEDS. PHYSICIANS HAVE REPORTED OVER 350 CASES LEAVING THESE KIDS WITH HALLUCINOGENIC PROBLEMS SOMETIMES HAVING TO RESTRAIN THEM WITH LEATHER STRAPS.

I live in So Cal and have Angel Trumpet all over my yard - stick a cutting in the ground and it grows. The yellow one is stronger than the pink (sadly as I prefer the pink). They have a wonderful scent starting in the late afternoon and continuing through night. Bloom profusely year around on and off in So Cal. Given water canna lilys take over my garden! I pull out clumps and share with friends constantly.

Here in Omaha, NE, my Angel Trumpets have continued to come back each year in massive proportions due to their spikey seed pods, that reseed the garden. In the winter I pull up the entire plant. By June of each year I have hundreds of plants. I always have to give plants and seeds away. I thought they would die off due to our extreme cold winters, but the seeds always survive. Scharol

We have a number of Brugsmansia (Angel Trumpet) potted around our patios and gardens here in Western Pennsylvania! -- and they are beautiful! During the daytime, the foliage and bloom take center stage, but at night . . . the fragrance is intoxicating! We winter them over in a heated garage, cutting them back quite severely before bringing them back outside after danger of frost is past (they don't survive below 39 degrees). A great plant to try either as a potted tropical or in your garden!
