Time Capsule

Party Favors

  • Compile a catalogue of what went into the time capsule. Include the name of everyone who contributed, what it was, and why they chose that item (guests were asked to write that down for you in Plan Ahead). Put your catalogue in a folder or binder that says Smith Family Reunion 2002 Time Capsule. You can decorate your own folders or binders with markers, paint, or stickers, or have them personalized. Office supply stores and retailer Staples carry folders and binders to decorate or go to Marnex Products for personalized ones.

  • Feed the body and the soul with a copy of the Smith Family Time-Honored Recipes cookbook you created. The recipes can be collected in a silver binder with navy lettering or reverse the color scheme. Office supply stores and Office Depot carry binders and stick-on lettering or look for something special at online retailer Scrapbook SuperStore.

  • Give your guests personalized clocks to keep track of time until the next reunion from online retailer ShinDigZ.

  • Make a mini-time capsule and fill it with cookies from a timely family recipe. Use a small mailing tube for your capsule, decorate it with star stickers, and write Smith Family Reunion 2002 on the tube. Look for mailing tubes at office supply stores and retailer Office Max.

  • Decorate navy address books with glow-in-the-dark planets and stars. Enclose a list of the addresses and phone numbers of the attendees. You will find glow-in-the-dark stickers in stationery stores and online retailer Birthday Express.

  • Watch time fly; add "wings" to colorful hourglass egg timers (also called three-minute timers). Cut wings from pretty paper and glue or tape them to the timers. Educational-supply stores and U.S. Toy carry egg timers.
