De-clutter and de-stress with our fun labels, which will help you organize your family's gear in every space of your home -- from the entry area, to the kitchen, the office, and kids' rooms. We've designed 23 fabulous labels that you can print and customize. We've shown several ways to use these labels, but they can be used anywhere and for everywhere you need a label.
These fun labels fit inside a standard clear luggage tag, which protects the paper label from wear and tear. Print the label and place it inside a luggage tag and loop around a basket handle. (We added a ribbon for a fun dose of style.)
-- Our labels come in three colors -- blue, green, and orange. If you only want to print one color, be sure to select only that page in your print menu before you print.
-- Some of our labels are designed to fit on specific labels sizes. These blank label sheets are available at office supply stores, and they can be used on home printers. (Look for the Editor's Tips to find out what label sized you'll need.)
-- You can either type in the text you want, or handwrite it. If you want to type the text, click into the center of a label in the document and type your text.
-- We recommend printing the non-adhesive labels on heavy cardstock or matte photo paper, and then laminating them for extra durability. At-home laminating machines can be purchased at craft stores, or you can take your labels to a copy center to be laminated.
The front entryway is the ultimate drop-off spot. Keep it clear of clutter by storing fashionable shoe buckets in a painted bookshelf. Designate a bucket for each family member and label the containers with a hanging laminated nametag. Punch a hole in the top of the label and use snap rings (available at office supply stores) to hang from bucket handles.
Keep dog treats handy in a clear cookie jar. Print a label on heavy cardstock or matte photo paper and place inside a metal-rimmed tag (available at craft stores, in the scrapbooking department). Slip a pretty ribbon through a punched hole for an extra pop of color. And be sure to keep the jar out of Fido's reach.
Editor's Tip: We used square metal ring tags from Memory Makers
Always know what key goes to what with these key ring labels. Print these labels on adhesive label sheets and adhere to round metal tags.
Editor's Tip: These labels are designed to be printed on Avery booklet seals (#5278), available at office supply stores.
Stow hard-to-find hats, mittens, gloves, and the like in wicker baskets placed in a wallpapered armoire. Designate one basket per person and place printed labels inside a clear luggage tag. Hang the tags from the basket handles and add a matching ribbon to complete the look.
Make life easier with clear, zippered bags perfect for grabbing on your way out the door. Pack one for each of your needs, such as kids' activities or a first aid kit, and stick on a cute adhesive label to keep things organized.
Editor's Tip: The small labels are designed to be printed on Avery 1x2-5/8-inch folder adhesive labels (#8160) and the large labels on Avery 2x4 mailing labels (#5163), available at office supply stores.
Here's a pantry that packs a punch. Keep food organized by assigning a shelf to each group (grains, baking ingredients, snacks, etc.). Line shelves with laminated fabric -- it's easy to clean and adds a splash of bright color. Editor's Tip: The rectangle labels are designed to be printed on Avery 2x4 mailing labels (#5163), available at office supply stores. The small round labels are designed to be printed on 2-1/2-inch circle stickers and the large round labels are designed to be printed on 4-inch circle stickers, both from Paper Source (papersource.com).
Plan out your family's weekly menu in advance and get all your groceries in one swift shopping trip. Magnetic labels make meals simple -- just mix and match dishes on the calendar and keep inventory on an organized board. These metal label holders (look for something similar on reproduction hardware websites) simply screw into the shelf and then labels slide into the holder. 1/25/2012 01:25:11 PM Report AbuseI dunno, but storing things in clear containers kind of negates the need for labels, doesn't it? I only label containers that I can't see into easily... (reference slide #7)
1/25/2012 09:32:18 AM Report AbuseThe menu board can be found on amazon.com. Look for board dudes magnetic board. I could not find the exact calendar but did find a nice one under "board dudes unframed magnetic calendar." Here's an idea for those of you that are having trouble lining up the labels to the printer. I printed my labels on card stock paper and turned them into stickers by using my oxyron machine. It transforms die cuts, paper, photos, etc into stickers.

1/19/2012 09:58:41 AM Report AbuseBeautiful labels! Thanks for offering them free, a fantastic opportunity! I also have a suggestion, for those wanting to adhere to bins but not wanting to spend the $$$ on Avery products.. print on regular paper and Modge Podge them onto almost any container. Modge Podge works great on glass and plastic. Cant wait to get busy with these, thanks BHG!

9/26/2011 01:46:23 PM Report AbuseI haven't figured out what size labels I need to purchase, but I found that if I typed what I wanted the label to say on the label, copy if, take it to a word document, then paste it....I could change the font, make it two lines, whatever I wanted. I don't think that can be done with the labels as they are....just a thought....
9/26/2011 05:47:26 AM Report AbuseWhen I store items in a tote, I buy the sheet protectors and tape it to the tote on 3 sides, then I write what is in there and slide it in the sheet protector, if I take something I mark thur it, and when emptied and refilled...just take out old list and add the new one. This works for me with gifts, summer/winter clothing and even to hold things for yard sales or donations.
