Painting Wicker

Changing (or refreshing) the color of your favorite wicker pieces is a snap.

To add a look of depth to dark colors, such as green, try this technique after you've painted your wicker furniture:

What You Need:
  • Walnut stain
  • Paintbrush
  • Hairdryer with a "cool" setting
  • Sponge
  • Paper towels or rags
Instructions:

1. With a paintbrush, apply a liberal coat of walnut stain to the entire surface.

2. With a hairdryer set on cool, blow air into the crevices. Wipe the stain off the high surfaces with a sponge.

3. Brush out drips with a paintbrush. Allow the piece to dry overnight.
