Zoobilation! Tigers for a Girl's Room!
Exotic animals and rich colors come alive in this newborn's nursery.
This soft, gender-neutral space gains coziness and drama from a bright animal-theme rug and sophistication from the painted gold- and beige-striped walls.
An exotic painting of a tiger led the way for this nursery full of rich hues and nontraditional furnishings.
Having set the stage with neutrals, it was time to bring a paprika-color pleated-and-bowed valance and a vintage chenille spread for the daybed into the room to really add some punch.
Basing the design off the valance fabric, a decorative painter created an elaborate painted footboard and headboard.
This baby is staying in a space-saving circular crib until she's old enough for the bed. The crib sports a custom orange polka-dot crib skirt; the dots are repeated in piping on the bumper, which is tied with black grosgrain ribbon.
Although black isn't usually seen in a nursery, its presence can make bright colors pop. In this snuggle spot, a black lampshade and wall accessories interrupt the neutrals and bring interest to the room.
