Tickled Pink & Green Room for a Girl
Flower Power
Control this design with random or planned spacing of the motifs. Here, the flowers were applied casually and approximately the same distance apart.
A woolly-pad kit created a soft, blended background for the flower-stamped wall that makes the motif pop.
- Sherwin-Williams semigloss paints: Jaipur Pink #6577 (JP), Priscilla #6575 (PR), Rosily #6574 (RO)
- Woolie Faux Kit, with videotape
- Paper plate
- Stencil Ease foam roller: 2-inch high density #57602
- Flower stamp (see "Making Stamps")
- Base-coat the wall with PR; let dry. View the woolly-pad kit instructional videotape. Brush RO and JP onto the wall using the large brush provided in the kit according to directions; trim as shown.
- Blot and tap with the wool pad, blending to create a subtly mottled surface. Finish one wall at a time; let dry.
- Pour a small amount of JP onto a paper plate. Using the high-density roller, apply paint to the surface of the flower stamp.
- Press the stamp onto the wall using firm pressure. Remove the stamp without sliding it. Place flowers approximately 5-8 inches apart.
