Focal-Point Mirror

Add dimension to your walls by bringing tin ceiling tiles down to eye level. We painted ours and used them to frame a mirror that works beautifully in an entryway.

Materials
  • Two 2-x-4-foot embossed metal ceiling panels
  • One 24-inch-square embossed-metal tile
  • Tin snips or band saw
  • Metal adhesive
  • Latex paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Flat-head brads
  • 18-inch-square mirror
  • Mirror adhesive

Instructions

Start with the two 2-x-4-foot ceiling panels and 24-inch-square tile. Ceiling tiles and panels are available in a variety of metal finishes and can be painted to suit your color scheme. Cut away four tiles (two on each panel) to accommodate the 24-inch-square tile.

To cut the panels, use tin snips or a band saw. Be very careful when cutting the metal; ceiling tiles are thin and have sharp edges when cut. When using a power tool to cut the metal, protect your eyes -- there may be small particles of metal flying into the air.
