What's the Natural Look?

Inspired by collections of natural finds gathered by explorers and traders in 16th- and 17th-century Europe, this trend focuses on the wondrous, odd, or rare elements of nature. Today, anything taken from outside or with a natural motif qualifies and can be put on display. Popular subjects are birds, bird nests, butterflies, shells, and coral.
