Gifted Wraps

The great scents of bay, cinnamon, and anise are creatively tucked and glued to the fronts of these two packages. Hot-glued in a tight wreath formation, bay leaves flavor the square box perfectly. It's topped with a "bow" of ribbon and star anise and a simple gift tag. Naturally handsome, the oblong box forgoes its paper wrap for a well-dressed bow. Tied with wire-edge ribbon, it jingles to the tune of a jumbo-size bell that's threaded in place.
Cinnamon-Stick Gift Tag: A slip of cinnamon sticks and a spicy gift tag add festive aromas to these presents. Here's how to make them:
Materials: Red textured and cream papers (available at art stores); tacky glue; crafts knife; 8 inches of 1/4-inch-wide gold ribbon; cinnamon stick.
Instructions: Tear a rectangle from the red paper. Cut a slightly smaller rectangle fromcream paper. Glue cream rectangle centered over the red rectangle. At top of tag, cut two 1/4-inch slits, centered and parallel to top of tag, about 1/4 inch apart. Thread ends of ribbon through slits, forming a small loop on the front. Slip cinnamon stick through loop, pull ribbon taut, and knot at back of tag. Tie ribbon ends to package.
