These vibrant pillow designs will create a lively appeal in every room.
What You Need:
  • Refer to page 1 of this story for the Fabric Key.
  • 3/4 yard of Fabric B
  • 1/4 yard of Fabric K
  • 1/8 yard of Fabric J
  • 6 x 24-inch round foam bolster form
  • Water-soluble marking pen
Instructions:
  1. From Fabric B, cut one 22-1/8 x 25-inch rectangle for the wraparound. Cut one 3-1/2 x 25-inch strip for the center top overlay.
  2. Using a compass, draw a 7-inch circle pattern onto paper; cut it out. Using the pattern, cut two circles from Fabric K for the ends. Fold the circles into fourths and mark the quarters along the edges.
  3. From Fabric J, cut two 2 x 50-inch strips for the ties. Cut the foam bolster form to 24 inches long, if necessary.
  4. Hem one long edge of the center top underlay with a 1-inch doubled hem. Hem both long edges of the wraparound with a 1-inch doubled hem. Before stitching one of the wraparound hems, slip the remaining long raw edge of the center top underlay in between the folds of one wraparound hem. Pin the underlay in place, and then fold it back over the wraparound "hem." Sew the hem, catching the underlay in the hem.
  5. Working with one tie strip, press the long edges under 1/2-inch to the wrong side. Press the strip in half again, enclosing the raw edges. Press under the tie ends. Pin the edges together. Repeat with the second tie strip.
  6. Measure and mark 8-1/2-inches from each unfinished edge of the wraparound. Mark the center of each tie and the center of the wraparound between the hemmed edges. Position the center marks of the ties with the center marks of the wraparound. Topstitch both long edges of the ties to the wraparound up to the outer hemmed edges (do not stitch ties to the underlay).
  7. Fold and pin the wraparound/underlay into a tube, positioning it so the space between the hemmed edges of the wraparound measures 3/4-inch. Measure and mark the quarters at the raw edges of the wraparound.
  8. Pin and stitch the ends to the wraparound, matching the quarter marks. Press the seam allowances toward the ends.
  9. Insert the foam bolster form into the cover through the top opening, laying the underlay flat to fully cover the foam. Tie each tie into a bow.
