Step 1
Instructions:

1. Fill an urn with dry foam. Cover the foam with Spanish moss and secure the moss with greening pins. Begin placing flowers in the urn by first positioning the line flowers in a symmetrical design. Your line flowers, or first-inserted flowers, establish the basic shape of the arrangement. Be careful not to cut them all the same length. The height of the line flowers will determine the height of the finished arrangement.

2. Add the dominant flowers between and around the line flowers. Create the depth and shape of the arrangement by cutting the flower stems at different lengths as you design.

3. Cut pieces of greenery to fill in around the base of the urn. Allow longer pieces to "spill" over the edge of the container. It is very important to also place some greenery to the inside of the arrangement so it doesn't look hollow.

4. Continue filling out the design with smaller mass flowers, placing them deep inside the arrangement as well as around the outside. Finally, add the filler flowers. Vary the height and length of the flowers to create visual interest.
