Table Ideas

Remember that a consistent color palette makes planning easier and unifies the look of the wedding. A symbol of fidelity and love's purity, blue is a perfect choice for this masculine-meets-feminine look.

If blue isn't your color however, the shirting-style fabrics are available in a variety of colors, so you can achieve this look in nearly any palette. The fabric also is available in a variety of solids, stripes, and more whimsical paisley.

At a tented reception, focus on tabletop style. Dress up rented white linens with table runners, simple floral centerpieces on glass stands, and a few votive candles for ambience.

We used tailored shirting fabric to create button-edge table runners, bow-tie table decorations, and starched menu cuffs. A beautiful china pattern carries through the motif seen on everything from the invitations and menus to the favors and cake. Combined, the look is both structured and soft.

Take a Seat

Welcome guests to the reception with pretty details such as place cards that match your theme. Display each table's seating assignments on a vintage serving tray lined with ribbon.

Dress up Rented Linens

When there's a gorgeous backdrop to attract attention, a little goes a long way with decorations. Accent vendor-supplied white linens and chairs with simple touches.

Get the table measurements early and spend a prewedding weekend making runners from shirting fabric.

Elevated centerpieces will be
the talk of the table.
Big Blooms

Choose big-bloom flowers for fewer stems per arrangement, which keeps them simple and cost-effective.

These low-lying centerpieces are pretty to look at and won't interfere with an across-the-table conversation. Moisten a piece of florist's foam so it's fully soaked but not dripping; place the foam on a cake pedestal.

Pin hydrangea leaves around the base, then fill in with hydrangeas, bachelor's buttons, and lilies, making sure to cover the foam completely.
