Cakes with Style
Cutting the cake represents the first shared task of your married life, so choose a cake that makes a statement about you as a couple.
The cake shown here is a casual cake that works well for a garden or outdoor wedding. It is covered with a scrumptious Swiss meringue buttercream icing and adorned with garlands of dainty gum-paste white daisies.
This pink cake -- complete with pearl buttons, pearlescent hand-painted sides, and exquisitely handcrafted flowers -- offers timeless appeal. The all-chocolate nosegays on each round tier consist of realistic gardenias, stephanotises, hydrangeas, and rosebuds, while the hand-painted chocolate sides are dusted with shimmering luster dust.
This three-tiered cake sets a festive mood. Scalloped and scrolled ribbons are cut from rolled fondant and woven over a pink rolled fondant base. Strips also cut from rolled fondant form the bow on top.
Here's a cake with an electric look. The sides of each tier are decorated with piped stripes and a reverse scroll border, while the top bow is crafted from gum paste. Small royal icing loops form rows on the bottom tier, while thicker loops attached to sticks are inserted into the top to form the bow.
The signature blue hue made popular by Tiffany gives this cake an elegant air. It drips with extravagant pearls, silver accents, and stunningly realistic roses. The cake is covered entirely in hand-rolled, hand-cut Belgian chocolate, which also forms the flowers.
A separate piece of chocolate edged with a hand-cut scallop tops each tier. Teardrop and round sugar pearls embellish the edges. A single pearl forms the center of each stephanotis flower.
