Editor Melissa Inman designed this multipage spread to document a recent visit to Disney's California Adventure theme park. She pulled her colors from the bright hues of the carousel. On the first page, she double-matted the main photo and added square matte-finish buttons threaded with colored jute as a simple page accent. She cropped a number of other photos to same-size squares and one long rectangle, and mounted them to a strip of card stock along the right edge. The Mickey Mouse shape attached to the journaling box was cut from green card stock and matted with pink.
On the second and third pages, Melissa mounted several photos cropped to 2-inch squares along the bottom edge, creating a whimsical border that mirrors the movement of the ride. On the left page, she printed her journaling on a sheet of white vellum, used a circle punch to make a hole where she wanted the photo beneath to show through, and positioned a metal-rim tag with the center cut away over the hole.
On the final page, Melissa cropped five photos the same-size squares and mounted them on green card stock. She printed her journaling in a box the same size and mounted all six squares to the background. She added smaller squares of bright pink, matted with green between the images, and adhered buttons for added dimension.
