      Mix patterned papers to give paper piecings personality. Vicki used white glitter paper to give this frosty fellow some icy sparkle. Black brads make great coal buttons.

      Cut overlapping elements from different-color cardstock to create noticeable contrast. Valerie cut this cute cupid's wings from white and gray cardstock so they'd stand out when layered atop each other.

      Create subtle definition on same-color layers by swiping the edges with the same-color ink in a darker hue. Valerie topped her pretty pansies with gem brads to create shimmery centers.

    • Hamburger Paper-Piecing Pattern

      Easily modify the toppings on your burger by using different colors and textures of paper and cardstock. Vicki used a liquid adhesive with a fine-tip applicator to attach the tiny bun seeds, olive, and toothpick.

      Use a bright glitter-coated paper to make sunglasses that will really attract attention. Jennifer cut the lenses from black cardstock and added glare with slivers of white. Mini brads attached to the frames look like hinges.

      Vicki cut this haunted house from black-and-gray patterned paper and backed the openings with orange cardstock before mounting it on a patterned-paper full moon and adorning with tiny bats for extra spookiness.

      Piece a turkey from cardstock in rich fall hues that match the season. Valerie alternated the colors of the tail feathers and added a gold gem to the face for an eye.

      Holiday Wreath Paper-Piecing Pattern

      Jennifer used flocked and foiled green papers for the wreath paper piecing. She cut and layered two star shapes for the poinsettias and jazzed them up with mini pearls.
