    • Ballerina Tutu Paper-Piecing Pattern

      Design by Valerie Salmon

Several pretty touches give this paper-pieced tutu pizzazz. Valerie used pink vellum for the top skirt layer to imitate the look of tulle and trimmed the skirt edges with decorative-edge scissors for "ruffles." She topped the tutu with a rosette, which you can find at crafts stores.

SOURCES: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper. Decorative paper: Die Cuts With A View. Rosette: Offray. Decorative-edge scissors, border punches: Fiskars.

    • Ballet Slippers Paper-Piecing Pattern

      Design by Valerie Salmon

For more intricate paper-piecing shapes, such as the bow of these ballet slippers, use a craft knife. Valerie cut several tones of pink cardstock to create shading on this paper piecing. She topped the slippers and bow with adhesive gems.
