    • Make Your Own Mouse Ears

      Design by Vicki Boutin

Vicki decorated her album cover with themed products so it's instantly recognizable as her family's Disney scrapbook album.

Editor's tip: For the mouse-ear embellishment on the cover, Vicki cut out circles from coordinating patterned paper and pieced them together.

    • Start With a Family Photo

      Design by Vicki Boutin

The opening page of Vicki's album sets the scene with a large shot of the entire family with Minnie Mouse and Goofy.

Editor's tip: Let the opening page of your scrapbook album showcase one photo of the whole group. Vicki chose a particularly memorable shot to begin her album.

    • Pare Down Embellishments

      Design by Vicki Boutin

Vicki included lots of photos on her clean and simple two-page scrapbook layout. Each spread in her album featured a different family member's perspective -- this page was from her son's point of view.

Editor's tip: It's OK to use only a few embellishments when you want to include plenty of photos. Vicki included one sticker of Donald Duck as her only embellishment.

    • Capture Emotion with Photos

      Design by Vicki Boutin

Vicki chose several shots featuring Minnie Mouse -- her daughter's favorite part of the trip.

Editor's tip: Use sequential photos to capture the emotion of the event. Vicki paired shots taken before and during a hug her daughter shared with Minnie.

    • Work With Similarly Sized Photos

      Design by Vicki Boutin

Vicki placed several shots of different characters on this two-page layout featuring photos she snapped during a parade, her favorite part of the trip.

Editor's tip: When filling a scrapbook page with photos, crop them to similar sizes so the eye isn't overwhelmed.

    • Journal on Tags

      Design by Vicki Boutin

Vicki designed journaling tags to insert between pages so she could include the story without taking up valuable real estate.

Editor's tip: Have each family member write his or her own journaling on a tag so you can share everyone's perspective.
