Getting Started

What You Need
  • Merinos Dodici from Lana Borgosesia: 100% wool; 1 3/4 oz. (50g); 69 yds. (63m); bulky weight #1205 Ecru (A);
    or Kashmir from Trendsetter (2 strands held tog) 65% cashmere, 35% silk; 1 3/4 oz. (50g); 110 yds. (100m); worsted weight #1205 Ecru (B)
  • Size 15 (10mm) needles OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
  • Size 13 (9mm) needles
  • Cable needle (cn)
  • 2 stitch holders
  • Stitch markers
  • Blunt-end yarn needle

Sizes
  • Small: 16 balls (A) OR 20 balls (B)
    Bust = 36 inches
    Length = 22 inches
  • Medium: 18 balls (A) OR 22 balls (B)
    Bust = 40 inches
    Length = 23 inches
  • Large: 19 balls (A) OR 24 balls (B)
    Bust = 44 inches
    Length = 24 inches
  • 1x: 21 balls (A) OR 26 balls (B)
    Bust = 48 inches
    Length = 25 inches
  • 2x: 22 balls (A) OR 28 balls (B)
    Bust = 52 inches
    Length = 26 inches
  • 3x: 24 balls (A) OR 30 balls (B)
    Bust = 56 inches
    Length = 27 inches

Instructions are written for the smallest size with changes for larger sizes given in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes.


Prep

Gauge: 12 sts and 16 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in Reverse St st with larger needles. TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

Special abbreviations
6-ST RC (RIGHT CROSS) = Slip 3 sts onto cable needle (cn) and hold in back of work; k3, k3 from cn.
6-ST LC (LEFT CROSS) = Slip 3 sts onto cn and hold in front of work; k3, k3 from cn.
4-ST RC (RIGHT CROSS) = Slip 1 st onto cn and hold in back of work; k3, p1 from cn.
4-ST LC (LEFT CROSS) = Slip 3 sts onto cn and hold in front of work; p1, k3 from cn.
