• Lion Brand, Kool Wool, 50% merino wool/50% acrylic, chunky weight yarn (60 yards per ball): 3 balls of Khaki (124) for color A and 2 balls of Grass (130) for color B
• Size 10 1/2 (6.5 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• Size K/10 1/2 (6.5 mm) crochet hook

In Color Pattern, 14 sts and 15 rows = 4 inches/10 cm. TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE!

Sl 1: Slip next stitch purlwise and with yarn on WS of fabric.
Sl 3: Slip next 3 stitches purlwise and with yarn on WS of fabric.

Color Pattern (a multiple of 4 sts + 1 st; a rep of 8 rows)
Row 1 (WS): With A, k1, p across, ending k1.
Row 2: With B, k1, sl 1; * k1, sl 3; rep from * across, ending k1, sl 1, k1.
Row 3: With B, k1; * p3, sl 1; rep from * across, ending p3, k1.
Row 4: With A, k2; * sl 1, k3; rep from * across, ending sl 1, k2.
Row 5: As Row 1.
Row 6: With B, k1; * sl 3, k1; rep from * across.
Row 7: With B, k1, p1; * sl 1, p3; rep from * across, ending sl 1, p1, k1.
Row 8: With A, k4; * sl 1, k3; rep from * across, ending k1.
Rep Rows 1-8 for Color Pattern.

With color A, cast on 25 sts. Work Color Pattern to approx 57 inches from beg, ending with Row 1 or Row 5. Bind off. Block scarf to measurements.

Cut 3 strands of A measuring 10 inches each. Fold in half to form a loop. With WS of fabric facing and crochet hook, take loop through first st at right edge. Take ends through loop and pull up to tighten. Alternating colors, add 11 fringes along each edge. Trim ends.
