Getting Started

Skill Level: Easy

Sizes: S (MEDIUM, L, XL)
Note: Sizes for most Better Homes and Gardens knitting projects are noted in the instructions. When one size is written out in capitalized letters, it is to note the size of the modeled garment. The instructions are written for the smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. For ease in working, before you begin, circle the numbers pertaining to the size you are knitting or crocheting.

Finished Measurements:
Bust: 36 (40, 44, 48) inches
Length: 21 1/2 (22, 22 1/2, 23) inches

What You Need
  • Classic Elite Yarns, Bazic Wool, 100% wool, worsted weight yarn (65 yards per hank): 13 (14, 16, 17) hanks of Aqua (2972)
  • Size 9 (5.5 mm) straight knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Size 8 (5 mm), size 10 (6 mm), and size 10 1/2 (6.5 mm) circular knitting needle, 16-inch length
  • Two stitch holders
  • Ring-type stitch markers
  • Yarn needle

Gauge

In Stockinette Stitch (St st) with straight needles, 16 sts and 17 rows = 4 inches/10 cm. TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE!


Special Abbreviations

Ssk: Slip next 2 sts knitwise one at a time to right-hand needle, insert tip of left-hand needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them together.

M1: Lift running thread before next st onto left-hand needle and knit in its back loop to make one stitch.
