With A, cast on 20 sts.
Row 1 (WS): With A, purl.
Row 2: With B, k1; (sl 2-p, k4) across, ending k1.
Row 3: With B, k1; (p4, sl 2-p) across, ending k1.
Row 4: With A, k1; (k4, sl 2-p) across, ending k1.
Row 5: With A, k1; (sl 2-p, p4) across, ending k1.
Row 6: With B, k3; (sl 2-p, k4) across to last 5 sts, sl 2-p, k3.
Row 7: With B, k1, p2; (sl 2-p, p4) across to last 5 sts, sl 2-p, p2, k1.
Rows 8-9: With A, rep Rows 2-3.
Rows 10-11: With B, rep Rows 4-5.
Rows 12-13: With A, rep Rows 6-7.
Rep Rows 2-13 for pattern until piece measures approx 62 inches from beg, ending with Row 5 or Row 11. With A, bind off loosely and knitwise.
Fringe
Cut 2 strands of A measuring approx 24 inches long. Holding strands tog, fold in half to form a loop. With WS of scarf facing and crochet hook, take loop through first stitch at right edge. Take ends through loop and pull up to form a knot. Add 11 fringes to each end. Trim ends.
