Join Brim and Ruffle
Arrange needles parallel with each other so that the needle holding Ruffle is in front of needle holding Brim, with both right sides facing you. With larger needles and C, k the first st from each set of needles together--1 st on needle. Continue in this manner, knitting both sets of sts together to the end--80 sts.

Cut yarn leaving long tail. Thread through sts and pull tightly to secure.

Bobble Topper
With larger needles and A, cast on 12 sts, leaving a 12" tail. Begin with a right side row, work 2 rows even in St st.
Next Row (RS): * K2tog; repeat from * across--6 sts.
Next Row: *P2tog; repeat from * across--3 sts.
Next Row: K3tog--1 st.
Fasten off last stitch, leaving long tail. Stuff Bobble with cast on tail. Thread yarn needle with last tail, weave yarn in and out of sts along cast on edge of Bobble. Pull the yarn tightly to gather.

FINISHING
Sew back seam. Fold edge at Picot row to wrong side and whipstitch in place. Sew Bobble to top center of Hat. Weave in yarn ends.

French Knot Embellishments
Stitch French knots in A & B randomly around Crown. Thread yarn needle with desired color, insert needle from back to front. Wrap yarn around needle three or four times (see illustration) then insert needle back through, right next to the entry hole, taking care that the yarn is in position shown in the illustration. Tug yarn gently to tighten knot. Secure ends.
