With larger hook and MC, ch 71.

Foundation Row (RS): Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across, 69 sts; turn.

Pat Row: Ch 2, hdc in back lp of first st; *hdc in front lp of next st, hdc in back lp of next st; rep from * across; turn. Rep Pat Row to approx 3 1/2 inch from beg, ending with a WS row.

Crown Shaping Row 1 (RS): Ch 2, pat across first 3 sts; (hdc3tog, pat across 8 sts) 6 times, 57 sts; turn.

Row 2: Pat across.

Row 3: Ch 2, pat across first 3 sts; (hdc3tog, pat across 6 sts) 6 times, 45 sts; turn.

Row 4: Ch 2, pat across first 3 sts; (hdc3tog, pat across 4 sts) 6 times, 33 sts.

Row 5: Ch 2, pat across first 3 sts; (hdc3tog, pat across 2 sts) 6 times, 21 sts. Leaving a long tail for sewing, fasten off.

Thread tail into blunt-end needle and back through rem sts. Pull up to close top. Sew back seam.

Make a Strawberry Motif as for the Cardigan and sew to center front of cap.

Edging With RS facing and larger hook, join B with sl st at back seam on lower edge, ch 1, sc in same ch.

*Ch 2, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * around; end with ch 2, sk 2 ch, sl st in first sc; fasten off.

With RS facing and larger hook, join A with sl st in first sc, ch 1, sc in same sc; *ch 1, (2 dc, picot, and dc) in next sc, ch 1, sc in next sc; rep from * around; end with ch 1, (2 dc, picot, and dc) in last sc; join with sl st in first sc; fasten off.
