Sleeves, Pocket & Motif

Sleeves (make 2)

With larger hook and MC, ch 25 (27).

Foundation Row (RS): Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across, 23 (25) sts; turn.

Pat Row: Ch 2, hdc in back lp of first st; *hdc in front lp of next st, hdc in back lp of next st; rep from * across; turn.

Inc Row (RS): Incorporating new sts into pat as they accumulate, inc 1 st each edge on this and foll RS rows until there are 33 (37) sts. Cont in pat until sleeve measures approx 7 (8) inches from beg, ending with a WS row; fasten off.

Place markers each side of edge, 1 inch below top of sleeve.

Sleeve Edging With RS facing and larger hook, join B with sl st to right cuff edge, ch 1, sc in same ch, (ch 3, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch) 7 times, ch 3, sc in last ch; fasten off. With RS facing and larger hook, join A with sl st in first color B sc, ch 1, sc in same sc; *ch 1, in next sc work 2 dc, picot, and dc; ch 1**, sc in next sc; rep from * across, ending last rep at **, join with sl st in first sc; fasten off.


Pocket (make 1)

With larger hook and MC, ch 8.

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, 7 sts; turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across, end with 2 sc in last sc, 9 sts; turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn.

Row 4: Work same as Row 2-11 sts; turn.

Work 7 more sc rows. After last row, do not turn. Sc evenly around outside edge of pocket to opposite corner; fasten off.

Edging With RS facing and larger hook, join B with sl st to top right corner, ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 3, sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc) 3 times, ch 3, sk 2 sc, sc in last sc; fasten off.

With RS facing and larger hook, join A with sl st in first color B sc, ch 1, sc in same sc, (ch 1, work 2 dc, picot, and dc in next sc; ch 1, sc in next sc) twice; fasten off.


Strawberry Motif (make 2)

Berry With A and smaller hook, ch 5.

Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each of next 2 ch; work hdc, 3 dc, and hdc in last ch.

Working along opposite side of ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in last ch; fasten off.

Leaves With RS facing and smaller hook, join C with sl st in first dc at top of berry, (ch 3, sl st in next dc) twice, ch 3, sl st in next hdc; fasten off.

Seeds With B, embroider straight sts to make seeds on front of berries.
