Knitted Guernsey Pullover and Cap

Getting Started

Skill Level: Easy

Sizes: 4 (6, EIGHT, 10)
Note: Sizes for most Better Homes and Gardens knitting projects are noted in the instructions. When one size is written out in capitalized letters, it is to note the size of the modeled garment. The instructions are written for the smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. For ease in working, before you begin, circle the numbers pertaining to the size you are knitting or crocheting.

Finished Measurements:
Chest: 28 (30, 33, 35) inches
Length: 15 1/2 (16 1/2, 18, 20) inches

What You Need
  • Patons, Classic Merino Wool, 100% wool, worsted-weight yarn (223 yards per skein): For pullover and hat; 3 (4, 4, 5) skeins of Blueberry (213)
  • Size 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Size 6 (4.0 mm) knitting needles
  • 2 stitch holders
  • Yarn needle

Gauge

In St st (knit RS rows, purl WS rows) with larger needles, 20 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches/10 cm. TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE!

Note: Read chart from right to left for RS rows and from left to right for WS rows.
