Girl's Knitted Cardigan Sweater with Ties

Dotted details stand out brilliantly on this cream stockinette-stitch cardigan. A trio of ties finishes the dressy sweater jacket that is knit of acrylic and wool blend yarn.

I knitted a simple 'garter stitch squares' cardigan for my niece when she was born. For her 8th b-day I knit this cardigan. I did change the pattern so that it has a single tie at the top and knitted the fronts and back together as one piece on a circular needle (I hate seaming if I can avoid it) and made the pattern 'swing' (by adding stitches at the bottom and decreasing as I worked my way up.) It didn't use yarn like I anticipated - and I am a 'to the gauge knitter' - so I had enough yarn left for a cute skull cap (repeating the seed stitch at the bottom). It turned out fabulously and I was able to finish it in less than three weeks. Too much procastinating from a dyed-in-the wool mitten knitter.....

Thanks for the great idea.

Easy pattern. Am a beginner. Only problem are to understand the collar part. Change the pattern by myself to tight seed pattern not a collar. But can any one teach me how to do precisely as in the pattern?
