Boy's Cables-Rib Knit Vest
Rich autumn colors are a handsome combination on this V-neck vest. The olive yarn carries to the edges with ribbing at the neck, armbands, and waist.
- Patons, Classic Merino Wool, 100% wool, worsted-weight yarn (223 yards per skein): 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) skeins of Deep Olive (205) for MC; 1 skein each of Russet (206) for A, Chestnut (231) for B, Paprika (238) for C, Rich Red (207) for D, and Natural Mix (229) for E
- Size 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
- Size 6 (4 mm) knitting needles
- Size 6 (4 mm) circular needle, 24 inches long

- Cable needle (cn)
- Yarn needle
In St st (knit RS rows, purl WS rows) with larger needles, 20 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches/10 cm. TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE!
Cr6B (over 6 sts): Slip next 4 sts onto cn and leave at back of work. K2, then bring yarn to front of work. Slip 2 purl sts from cn back onto left-hand needle and purl them. Slip rem 2 sts from cn onto left-hand needle and knit them.
Ssk: Slip next 2 sts knitwise, one at a time to right-hand needle, insert tip of left-hand needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.
