Yarn

  • Classic Merino Wool from Patons (Art. 244077); 100% wool; 3-1/2 oz. (100 g); 223 yds. (205 m); worsted weight
  • 2 balls #202 Aran

Hook & Extras

  • Size G/6 (4 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Blunt-end yarn needle
  • One pair 6-inch-wide circular wood purse handles
  • 2 yards of 1-1/2-inch-wide satin ribbon

Gauge

  • 14 sc and 14 rows = 4 inches (10 cm). Take time to check your gauge.

Stitch Abbreviation

  • BPtr: yo twice, insert hook from back to front to back around post of next st 2 rows below and draw up a lp, (yo and draw through 2 lps on hook) 3 times.
  • BPtr2tog: *yo twice, insert hook from back to front to back around post of next st 2 rows below and draw up a lp, (yo and draw through 2 lps on hook) twice *, sk next 3 sts; rep from * to * once more, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook.
  • FPtr: yo twice, insert hook from front to back to front around post of next st 2 rows below and draw up a lp, (yo and draw through 2 lps on hook) 3 times.
  • C4B: sk next 2 posts sts, work FPtr around post of each of next 2 post sts, FPtr around post of first of 2 skipped sts; working behind first 2 FPtr just made, FPtr around post of 2nd skipped st.

Special Stitch - Bobble

(Yo, insert hook in st, yo and draw up a lp) twice in same specified st -- 5 lps on hook, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook, yo, insert hook in same st, yo and draw up a lp -- 6 lps on hook, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook, yo, insert hook in same st, yo and draw up a lp -- 7 lps on hook, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook, yo and draw through 6 rem lps on hook, push bobble to RS of work.

I believe that the instructions to row 6 are backwards, and subsequently make row 7 and 8 backwards as well. Row 6 should do the 17 hdc first, and then go into the pattern between the * and **. Then you have to adjust row 7 and 8 accordingly. Did anyone else feel they needed to make this adjustment?
