This colorful butterfly card is easy to make and can lift anyone's spirits.
- "You can fly" rubber stamp
- Black stamp pad
- White card stock: 5-1/2 x 8-inch rectangle; 3-inch square
- Papers: 3-3/4 x 5-1/4-inch rectangle of light blue; 3-1/4-inch square of blue
- Glue stick
- Cream acid-free paper raffia
- Sheer ribbon: 1-1/4-inch-wide light blue and 5/8-inch-wide multicolor
- Miniature glue dots
1. Use black ink to stamp "you can fly" along the bottom edge of the 3-inch square of white card stock.
2. Fold the 5-1/2 x 8-inch white card-stock rectangle in half to measure 4 x 5-1/2 inches. Center and glue the light blue rectangle on the front of the folded card. Center and glue the blue square on the light blue rectangle and the stamped square on the blue square.
3. For the butterfly's body, cut a 1-1/2-inch-long piece of paper raffia and wrap 1/4-inch-wide light blue ribbon around the raffia. Tie the ribbon ends in a knot at one end of the body, and trim the ends to 3/4 inch for the antennae. Fold the multicolor ribbon back and forth, creating three wing sections. Use miniature glue dots to glue the body to the center of the wings and to attach the butterfly to the center of the card front.
