Easy-Care Advice

Plain T-shirts, whether all-cotton or a 50/50 cotton/polyester blend, are easy to care for. But adding trim can complicate things. Most ribbons, rickrack, crocheted embellishments, and yarns are machine-washable, but decorated shirts should be turned inside out before washing to minimize wear and tear on the trims. Some trims, such as beaded fringe or ribbons containing beads or plastic parts, are not safe for the washer. Hand-wash and line-dry shirts with these decorations to preserve your creations.
